Creating a Door Ajar Light on the 99-00 Civic With The Civic Type R Gauge Bezel

In order for this to work you will need the following items:
CTR Gauge Trim: Can Be Found on Ebay,
JDMHondaparts.com, InlineFour.com, and sometimes randdmotorsports.com for
around $50
1 diode
1 piece of wire
1 light bulb The OEM Honda Bulb its available
from Honda the part number is: 35505-sa5-003 W-Socket (14V 1-4W). It's about
$3.00.
STEP ONE: The first step is obviously remove the cluster. This is relatively easy, I will post the how to on this later on but chances are if you can't remove the cluster you haven't installed the CTR trim and this is pointless.
STEP TWO: The second thing you must do is solder in the diode as shown in the pictures below

With the Electronics paper folded down
STEP THREE: Place the Bulb in the socket where the door ajar light is located on the cluster. The contacts are already there you will actually connect the wires that allow the light to work in the next step
STEP FOUR: Run a wire from the door switch wire to the cluster, the green harness under the dash for the Honda alarm has that wire, splice into the Light Green/Red wire and run it up to the cluster as shown below

STEP FIVE: next cut the pink wire on the cluster harness and move it to first pin in the top harness

STEP SIX: Now tie the pink wire and the wire from the green connector together, and you have a door light...
